bibliocommons

Bibliocommons is pretty awesome for a library catalog. It has all the best features of social networking sites, and is clean and useful. I'm excited to start making lists of my favorite things.

R-S-S in the H-O-U-S-E

I love RSS feeds. It's like a digital newspaper with only the stuff I want to read about and none of the junk. The feeds I subscribed to are:

- Fine Art Library Homepage
- zinelibrary.info
- Questia - the online library of books and journals

Ben 2.0

I looked at the Web 2.0 award list and checked out some of the sites. They are all very clean and functional, and they serve their purpose just fine. I took a closer look at youtube and a few others. When I worked at a design firm in Kansas City, one of my projects was to build a huge social networking site. I spent hours and hours analyzing Youtube, Myspace, livejournal, etc, then building a site that essentially wrapped them all into one. Let's just say I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore.
